On October 31, 2024, the School of Physical Education held a promotion meeting for the construction of the physical education discipline in 2024 in the second-floor conference room. The college leaders, all professors, master's supervisors and doctoral teachers attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Fang Wei, the vice president of the college.
At the meeting, Guo Minggang, the vice president of the college, gave a detailed report on the college's discipline construction, scientific research work, as well as the situation of postgraduate training and future development plans. President Yang Yiwu conveyed the spirit of the supportive policies of the School of Humanities for discipline construction and scientific research work, emphasizing the supporting role of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences in the construction of the physical education discipline and the overall thinking of the school in guiding the construction of each discipline. Nie Weijing, the secretary of the college, emphasized the significance of the construction of professional ethics and conduct for postgraduate supervisors. She instructed all supervisors to take moral education and talent cultivation as the fundamental task and "cultivating people for the Party and talents for the country" as the fundamental goal. She also required each supervisor to earnestly implement the conversation system with postgraduate students, guiding them ideologically, educating them in their studies, and helping them in their daily lives.
Finally, Yang Yiwu made a concluding speech. He comprehensively reviewed the development situation of the college's disciplines, deeply analyzed the development direction of the disciplines, and put forward three requirements to the teachers present: First, they should enhance their ideological understanding, fully recognize the significant meaning of discipline development to the college, increase their enthusiasm for scientific research, and establish a sense of mission and responsibility for cultivating postgraduate students. Secondly, adjust the research ideas and directions, deeply integrate the disciplinary advantages of the school, rely on the achievements of campus digital construction, and proactively explore the cutting-edge fields of sports engineering and sports science. Thirdly, we should strengthen our sense of responsibility, make long-term plans, make up for individual research deficiencies with the advantages of teamwork, give full play to the advantages of interdisciplinary integration, and spare no effort to contribute to the development of the college's disciplines.
