In response to the concept of "cultivating people through sports" and to promote the all-round development of children in terms of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics and labor, on May 9th, the volunteer service team of the School of Physical Education entered the Wuchangfu Community and carried out a theme sports activity of "Dance Cheerleading". The activity, through a combination of theory and practice, leads the children in the community to experience the charm of cheerleading, stimulate vitality and cultivate team spirit in the process of exercise, and help children develop a lifelong exercise habit.
The volunteers first introduced the origin, classification and exercise value of cheerleaders to the children through vivid and interesting explanations, and deepened their understanding by combining interactive questions and answers. Subsequently, the fun game of "you draw, I guess" quickly ignited the atmosphere on the spot. Amidst laughter and joy, the children exercised their reaction ability and body coordination, laying a foundation for the subsequent practical sessions. During the practical session, the volunteers were divided into groups to demonstrate the basic hand movements of cheerleading, from "Down A", "Up A" to "Down V", "Up V", patiently breaking down the key points of each movement. The children followed the practice attentively, gradually moving from unfamiliarity to fluency, and eventually completed a coherent presentation accompanied by music.
Cheerleading combines fitness, fun and teamwork, and is an effective carrier for promoting children's physical and mental development. This activity not only enriched the after-school life of children in the community, but also cultivated their qualities of confidence, cooperation and perseverance through the diverse values of sports. Next, the college will continue to delve into the grassroots level, design more distinctive physical education courses, and make sports a booster for children's all-round growth.
